History of the firm
Gerard Conlan began practice on 1 April 1971. Gerard is a skilled litigator and trusted legal advisor. He successfully represents clients in and out of court and has built a practice specialising in commercial law and litigation, debt recovery, and property law.
In 1990, Gerard became one of the first lawyers in Victoria to be accredited as a business law specialist.
Gerard's ethos has always been to respond quickly to what's required and be straightforward and honest with clients. He built a loyal client base who are still with the firm today, as are many of their children and grandchildren.
Originally based in Essendon, the firm outgrew its original premises and relocated to Ascot Vale in 2000.
In 2004, Gerard's daughter, Elizabeth Cummings, joined the firm as an articled clerk, gaining experience across a range of legal practice areas.
Elizabeth's interest and skill in family law and estate planning has seen the firm and its client base expand, and in 2016 she became Partner, joining her father in leading the firm.
Together, with their team of experienced lawyers and dedicated support staff, Elizabeth and Gerard have built a successful and diverse practice with a professional, respectful, and friendly culture that delivers expert advice and representation to clients for all their family and business matters.
